SPIRITUAL HEAD OF WORLDWIDE CHURCH TO VISIT CHARLESTON

The spiritual head of the worldwide Anglican Catholic Church (ACC) will be in Charleston this weekend on a visit to St. Timothy's ACC Parish in West Ashley. The Most Rev. Dr. Mark D. Haverland, Archbishop and Metropolitan, will be celebrant at the Passion Sunday Mass at 10AM on April 6th. Archbishop Haverland is the spiritual head of the worldwide Anglican Catholic Church whose roots go back to early Celtic Christianity.

The Anglican Catholic Church has parishes throughout Latin America, Asia, Europe, Great Britain with the fastest growing churches in Africa. Church practice and theology is parallel to that of the Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic and many traditional first century churches. The ACC is also in communion with other continuing Anglican Church jurisdictions, also with parishes worldwide.

The Archbishop will be doing confirmations and receptions at the Mass. St. Timothy's has had a presence in Charleston since the 1970's. A parish of word and sacrament, it provides spiritual care through faithfulness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and traditional worship. The ACC is part of Christ's One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church and subscribes to the three creeds of Christianity.

The parish has Mass on Wednesdays and Sundays, as well as Morning Prayer daily. It recently completed a PTSD program for Veterans and has regular Bible study and men's/women's programs.
